When Randy and Sheri purchased their home, they were drawn to its location and potential, but the interior was dated and lacked the spaces they envisioned to meet their lifestyle and hosting needs. Their goal was to create a dedicated sanctuary where they could relax, especially when entertaining in the main areas of the home, and design a fully equipped, luxurious guest suite that offered guests a retreat like experience. The result is a two-story, 20 by 26-foot addition that enhances both the main level primary suite and lower-level guest suite with thoughtfully designed spaces that blend comfort, functionality, and style.

On the main level, the addition extends directly off the primary bedroom, creating a serene sitting room filled with natural light from expansive windows that showcase the view of the wooded bluff. A natural stone surround fireplace with a wood look concrete mantel anchors the space and is paired with a warm barnwood ceiling to add texture and warmth. The transitional-style kitchenette, complete with a beverage fridge, built in under-counter microwave, and dishwasher drawer, allows the clients to enjoy quiet mornings or evenings without leaving the suite. Taj Mahal leathered quartzite countertops and a herringbone tile backsplash add layers of comfort and sophistication.
On the lower level, the existing guest room was expanded to include its own sitting room and a high-end wet room. Mirroring the space above, the guest sitting area features a stone surround fireplace, tiled backsplash kitchenette, and a 180-degree view of the wooded bluff. The adjacent bathroom features a fully custom wet room with a tiled walk-in shower, soaking tub, and two recessed niches, all enclosed by a sliding glass door for added privacy. Outfitted with a linear drain and three shower options including a rain head, handheld, and standard head, the space delivers a true spa-like experience for guests. The room is completed with a custom vanity, separate sit-down makeup vanity, and a linen cabinet for added convenience and storage.
Throughout both levels, hickory flooring, custom inset cabinetry, leathered countertops, white craftsman style trim, and barnwood accents bring warmth and texture, achieving the modern rustic aesthetic Randy and Sheri envisioned. Motorized blinds and heated floors were added to each room to enhance comfort and everyday ease. This addition meets the need for multi-guest hosting, while also delivering a peaceful space for daily living.
