To create this guest suite, we repurposed the former office into a spacious bedroom and converted an underutilized second master closet into an adjoining 60 square foot bathroom. Despite its compact size, the bath includes a 3 by 4-1/2-foot walk-in tile shower featuring two half walls and textured glass to maintain an open feel while providing modesty. A built-in tiled foot niche was incorporated in place of a permanent bench to optimize space, and a lighted niche offers convenient shower storage. Hansgrohe brushed nickel fixtures, including a ceiling mounted rain head, handheld, and standard shower head, enhance comfort, with the faucet valve placed near the entrance for easy access.

To preserve usable space, the door from the bed to the bath was recessed into an alcove. Custom inset cabinetry is paired with leathered Taj Mahal quartzite countertops for a subtle, elevated finish. The lowered sit-down makeup vanity was carefully designed to maximize drawer access while maintaining ample storage and is complemented by a lighted mirror for usability and ambiance. Given the bath’s central location on the main level, we added sound insulation to enhanced privacy.

In the bedroom, double wide entry doors improve accessibility, while a bay window draws in natural light. The spacious reach in closet is finished with custom designed shelving that incorporates both long hanging space and open shelves for optimal storage. Hickory wood floors, white enameled millwork, and Revere Pewter painted walls brighten the room and visually connect the suite with the rest of the home.
